Turning 23 doesn’t seem extremely monumental, but I would like to think of this as a Big year. For the first time in my life I LIVE in a city. I mean, my address includes the words “Washington, DC’. I love that, more than words do justice!
So, 23, what are we going to do together?
I have no idea.
**********
In the meantime, we’ll get to know each other. Maybe we’ll even check a few All of these things off the list….
1) Run a MARATHON
2) PR in the 10K
3) Pass the RD exam!
4) Have a drink with my little Sis’ in DC
5) Learn to like the taste of Red wine
6) Learn how to pronounce more types of White wine, so I can order a variety when “out”! (I’ll only order it if I can pronounce it….)
7) Run a race (or two…three…four…) in a NEW state
8 ) Take a Salsa dancing class. Being from the Southwest, I should just know how to do it, right? Right.
9) Get a J-O-B (preferably one that comes with a paycheck……)
10) Watch one of my Best Friends get married
11) Travel to NYC. Even if it’s just for the day…..
12) PR in the half-marathon distance.
13) Treat the toes to at least one pedicure. They deserve it!
14) Taste test a GU, while on a Run.
15) Volunteer for Girls On The Run, because how amazing is this organization?! Right, I know.
16) Help the baby Sis train for her FIRST half-marathon! (Currently making her training plan.)
17) RUN in the rain. I want to go all-out; I want a downpour; I want to leave the Garmin at home and just feel like a bada$$ because I’m soaked and I just finished 5 miles.
18) Run a sub 6:30 mile. It’s in these legs…somewhere…..
19) Complete a TRAIL race – anything that’s considered “off road”.
20) Sign up for a race with a family member
21) Coordinate a Blogger meet up for a race/run/SOMETHING
22) Keep running and blogging
23) Check everything OFF of this List!
********
Alright 23, let’s do this.

First off, Happy Birthday!
Second, You Never had a GU? What!?! They cost a dollar and they are great. And I bet if you asked some of your running budies that they would give you one to try. However you need to go treat yourself on your next long run. You’ll be glad you did.
Also if you are looking for a flat fast marathon you should come down and run the Albany Marathon with me in 2010.

Happy Birthday! You are still so young
And you will achieve so many of these things easily. Want to knock a cross-country race off your list? The Annapolis Striders Dog Days 8K is Aug 2. A mix of ball fields, parking lots and trails.
Oh, and the Garmin is water resistant. You can still wear it in that downpour!

Happy Birthday to you!
It’s amazing to read how much you’ve already accomplished! And your list of things to hopefully come is great too. I like #21. I’m still trying to find bloggers in my area. And #18: I know you can do it!!!

Happy birthday. Great goals, and all are totally attainable!
Enjoy 23. I think 23 was actually the year that I started enjoying/LOVING red wine, so hopefully that works out for ya.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Welcome to being 23!! lol. That kinda sounded weird.
But I love your list! It actually got me excited because I share some of those goals. Girls on the Run looks like a great organization and I wish I could help out, too!
Running in the rain=AMAZING! One day when it’s POURING, we should plan to just go out and rock out a run. The first few steps are not fun but the rest is AWESOME. Then air-dry your shoes for like, three days, lol.
And I definitely see sub-6:30 in your near, near future. No question about it!!
