After another great 5 miler last night with my group, I finally feel back to ‘normal’. We kept it at a nice ~9 min/mile pace, and I finished the last 0.2 miles @ 6:40 min/mile pace. Yesss, feeling good!

I’m heading up to Penn State tomorrow for a mini, Quick, roomie reunion. Since I sort of, um, “skipped” my Long Run last weekend, I want to try and get it in today. I’m debating heading down into DC, running around my apartment, or trying something Completely different. There are a lot of things on the agenda today, so it depends on where I end up around 5 p.m. We’ll see……

One of my favorite running gals, Sassy, passed on an ‘award’ earlier this week. The catch: List 7 traits about yourself. So, you get a dose of me for Friday. This, brought to you by Panera’s free internet that I’m using all morning, and their coffee that is keeping me ALERT -

* It took me 3 years to figure out how to get the iPod ear-buds to stay IN my ears. As I sit here, music-in-head thanks to said ear buds, I wonder what the mystery ever was? I still can’t run with them though. My neck gets too stiff in fear of moving my head too much and having them fall out. Ah, the battle continues….

*I heart Eminem, a Lot. Favorite rapper, hands down, no questions asked. Yes, he’s offensive and vulgar and an on/off drug addict. And, no, this makes no difference.

* People used to ask if my sister (2 1/2 yrs younger than me) and I were twins All The Time. Until the age of ~18 this drove me CRAZY. Then we just went with it, because if we answered “No” it was too much explaining ( and nobody thinks I’m older. gah!). At the age of 16 she got invited to a bar during her visit to Penn State. At the age of 22, I am still occasionally asked if I’m older than 18. Geeze.

*Even after 12 years of soccer, running was “not my thing”. I didn’t really “enjoy” it until college. Of course, I was completely addicted after my first half-marathon. I still ocassionally think back to times I ran in high school, when it took me a good 18-20 minutes to finish 2 miles and I felt like I was knocking on Death’s door! Ah, progress.

*I haven’t started Full marathons yet…..but when I do, I want to be a “Maniac“! It’s crazy to run 26.2 miles. Really, it is. So  if you’re gonna go, go All out, right? Exactly.

*In the last 5 years, I’ve lived in 4 states – home (NM), college (PA), a semester working for the Mouse (FL), and post-college life (MD)! My heart has settled on DC for now.

*My car died a few weeks ago, and had to be replaced. I’m in love with the new one, but we have one issue. In order to keep my NM plates, the car had to be in NM – not gonna happen any time soon! Uh oh. My “out of state plates” are my “get out of jail FREE” card! Stupid move on I-95? Accidentally cutting somebody off getting on the beltway? Hey! I’m out of state! Not anymore…..sad day.

And that’s all for now.
